The Mill was approached by The Barbican and KOJIMA Productions to transform one of their game titles, Death Stranding, into a visionary and interactive art exhibit.

With early access to the storyline and gameplay, Noel Drew and his team were able delve into the intricate layers of the story and craft a dynamic spatial experience. By utilizing 8 Kinect cameras, a super-wide interactive touch surface was created to accurately track interactions and provide real-time insights into the space and participants.

Each visual element was paired with a unique audio signature, composed of percussive hits, keyed elements, and tonal atmospheres, to encourage engagement and interaction. The audio design was carefully crafted to ensure that the soundscape remained harmonious and well-balanced, even when multiple sounds were triggered simultaneously.
